The Cradle of Aviation museum contains a photo-archive of over 60,000 photographs directly related to Long Island's aerospace heritage. A high percentage of these photographs are "one-of-a-kind" not available elsewhere. This sampling of photographs of aviators at historic Roosevelt Field, taken between about 1925 and 1940 are amoung our best. They were taken by Roosevelt Field photographer John Drennan. Many are of famous aviators, while the names of others are lost to history.
